I want to slay: Queen Hadassah(Episode 4)

Let us meet the Bold Queen in this episode!!

Welcome to Sarahblogz!!

Guys!!! how have you been? I trust that you are doing really well. I’m getting so used to writing and having you in mind at the same time. Let me know how you are doing in the comment section. Thanks for always reading.

It’s still August with Hadassah!!!

So something really serious happened in the last episode. Queen Hadassah’s uncle had put his people in danger. Death was looming around the corner. There was so much sadness and grief. Just imagine!! They didn’t just know their birthday, they also knew their deathday. Such an irony!!

Queen Hadassah’s uncle then sent a word to her to do something about the predicament of him and his people. After all, she was one of them and the decree came from the palace in which she was Queen. The decree was binding and if she must appear before the king, then it was a matter of life and death. Guess what!! She sent a message to her uncle that she will do all she can but even if she dies in the process, then so be it!!! Ah!! The Bold Queen!!

Thereafter, she requested her uncle and the people to fast and pray for three days on her behalf. She also fasted and prayed too with her maidservants. Hmmn!! A whole queen. Eventually she got an audience with the king but something happened. What was it? We shall unveil this in the next episode.

From the above, again let us see some life slaying nuggets:

Walk the talk: Queen Hadassah did not just tell her uncle and the people to fast. She also actively engaged in the fasting and prayers. It is very easy to give instructions especially when in the place of authority but do we also obey the same instructions we give out? Let us add ‘Do as I Do’ to ‘Do as I Say’.

Trust in God: Do not think that you can handle the storms of life all by yourself. No one has ever been this way called Life before, thus I believe the one who created life can help us navigate through each path safely.

Make firm decisions: It is not every decision that comes easy. Queen Hadassah’s appearance before the King could either have resulted in life or death. While safely trusting in the Lord, we need to make some tough decisions that will propel us in life just like the bold Queen. However such decisions should be taken under God’s supervision. You are a Medical Doctor but you want to run a toy-making factory…a very tough decision. God only needs you to take that bold step. Healthy risks are worth taking!!Read the speech by Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon and be inspired

Selfless life: A life without meaning or relevance is one lived for no one else but yourself. It is very easy to slip into the error of selfishness. Live a selfless life. Go all out for people and love them. God will always come through for anyone who loves what He loves. God loves people!!

Personally, I have learnt from this episode to walk the talk and also take healthy risks!! I am going to have a chat with God about what I have learnt. What have you learnt from today’s episode? Do you have additional lessons for us?

Thanks for reading as always. We love to hear from you. Please drop your comments in the section below and do not forget to subscribe via email to receive amazing blog posts.

Peace…

  1. These are hardcore leadership qualities!
She has proven herself an amazing leader. Awesome lessons learned.
    More, please!

  2. Hi Sarah.
I am doing very fine. Thank you for writing and also having us at heart.
Thanks for opening my eyes to the fact that Hadassah was now a leader even over her uncle and yet her respect for him did not decline. likewise the part of trusting in God even when in a decision making fix.

I just observed one other things from Esther’s leadership, this is the part of her being a good influence. From the above write-up we see that she fasted and prayed with her maidservants. I didn’t see where it was written that the maidservants were Jews like her. So they could have being non Jews. Yet she had a good influence on them that they prayed and fasted alongside her.

I feel this is an extra lesson for those in positions of power and influence to rob off positively on those under them.

    Thank for the beautiful piece…

Quite a lovely piece. I really enjoy how there are real life lessons attached to each write up. I think I want to take more ‘healthy risks’ hence forth…lol. It’s better to try than regret. And better still, it’s most comforting when we have God actively involved in our decision making.
