Hey Guys!! We are glad to start another wonderful series titled: I want to slay.

“I want to slay” simply suggests the desire to conquer and be celebrated for that. Today we will be having a part of the real story of Queen Hadassah!! It is going to be an amazing August with Hadassah!!

I met Hadassah through the best book I have ever read in the whole world. I’d recommend the book at the end of this series. Hadassah lost her parents quite early and had to live with her uncle. She was a beautiful young virgin. She was so obedient to her uncle that she went for a beauty contest upon his orders. Hadassah won the beauty contest and the reward was that she became a Queen to the King at that time.

What really baffles me is how she moved from being an orphan to becoming the Queen in a strange land.
Can you imagine yourself become the Queen of England when you don’t have the royal blood running in your veins? I mean!!!
By all standards, Hadassah was not qualified. She had every reason to be disqualified from the contest. Having read her story thoroughly, I found out some slay life nuggets:

1. YOUNG: One of the conditions to apply was that such girls must be young. The truth is there are opportunities that will definitely come your way just because you are YOUNG. Most times we don’t recognize that being young is a blessing and then we try to act older or even lie about our age. I don’t just get it!!! Being young is a blessing and it is a platform for your BECOMING. This is not a time to waste our youthfulness!! Grab every opportunity to serve God with your life because before you know it, we will move to another season of life when we will be OLD. Just because you are young, you are privileged!!

Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore”

2. PURE: Another criteria for joining the contest is that the ladies must be Virgins.This is a very controversial gist in these contemporary days. To address this, Sexual purity can never be out of vogue. God is interested in how we use our bodies. Even if we have missed it at one point or the other, don’t sit comfortably in a mess that can last a lifetime if not cleaned up. When God created us, he made us complete and we are meant to use all that He has given us for His glory. Don’t be pressured to cast your pearls unto swine. Keep the good in your body!!

And so dear brothers and sisters, i plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. let them be a living and holy sacrifice-the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

2. BEAUTIFUL: We all love beautiful things and people. it is okay to be beautiful but I’m more concerned about the inner beauty. When God looks at us, what does He see? Does He see beauty or ashes? We can put all the make up on our faces and look beautiful/handsome but we can’t wear cosmetics on our hearts.The state of our hearts is what makes us beautiful. Invite Jesus into your heart and He will make you beautiful!!

But the Lord said to Samuel, “don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

God is interested in unravelling us till we become the cynosure of all eyes for His glory! He wants us to see our youthfulness(male or female) as a gift. Let us not get carried away or become entangled with the affairs of this world. We can dare to be different.

So this is how to SLAY: Young, pure and beautiful.
